Following my relatively return to DeviantART, I was uploading only franchised works because I found that I could easily suibmit them to relevant groups maintained by fans of the given series or property. Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception of my recent "unlicesed" uploads however, I have elected to continue uploading creations in the general genres of Pirates, Castle, and the other mostly historical themes by which I build.
This was my (I think prize-winning?) entry to the Eurobricks.com Pirate LEGO forum's Captain's Cabin Contest (the smaller, one time CCC) in 2008. Here's the credit blurb:

And a note of retrospective: I was very happy at the time to own a few basic bricks in the rarer sand green color, enough to finish the wall above and around the map, but now I regret that it doesn't fit well with the other wall; I should have had it dark gray all around.
Yes, it's a wine rack. I'm sorry I didn't get to reply to you guys sooner! I'm only now returning to this site but still plan to upload other historical models as promised in the description. Thanks all!
I love everything except that light blue. It could just be my opinion but it seems to be a color that doesn't really fit in. Plus that side of the image is already heavy with shades of blue. Otherwise those details are great as usual! My favorite is the window side wall and the bottle rack. Looks like that bottle rack would have been troublesome to make, was it?
While the only light blue by my eye is on the 2x2 map tile, I do regret the use of sand green, see my description below the photo. The wine rack was a sturdy and methodical build, inspired by this technique: [link]
I love how you made the world map! There are soo many small details, that make this small build very awesoeme. Like the angled wall candles ond other stuff. Nicely done!
